Revealed at Sony’s E3 presentation earlier this year, Monster Hunter World finally has a release date. The next step in the Monster Hunter franchise will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on January 26th, 2018 with a PC release slated for sometime later in the year.

The console release will, in fact, be a simultaneous global launch date – a first for the series. Capcom has also announced at the Tokyo Game Show that a special edition PS4 Pro, as well as deluxe and collector’s editions of the game, will launch at the same time. It was not made clear whether the console will be available globally at launch, or if it is exclusive to Japan.

Finally, if you pre-order the game you’ll get a special set of armor that calls back to the first game in the series.

When he's not writing or studying for some class or another, Jonathan is very likely playing his umpteenth match of Rocket League for the day. You'll probably find him jumping around and cheering for a rare win, or (more likely) cursing the day he ever picked up a DualShock.
