The fourth entry in the popular Marvel vs. Capcom series finally has a release date and the story mode has been detailed.

This time around the story will be much more fleshed out, with action-packed cutscenes showing the denizens of various franchises interacting with one another. There’s also a core villain this time around – a combined being formed of Marvel’s Ultron and Mega Man X’s Sigma. You can see the general premise in the first story trailer below:

The trailer also shows us a few more confirmed characters, bringing the full roster to 14 – Captain America, Strider Hiryu, Iron Man, Ryu, Morrigan, Mega Man X, Hulk, Captain Marvel, Chun Li, Chris Redfield, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, Thor and Ultron. Sigma is also confirmed to be one of six DLC fighters who’ll be available with a Character Pass.

If you pre-order the standard edition you get the Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu costumes, while the deluxe edition comes with those two plus Gladiator Hulk and Command Mission Mega Man X, as well as the character pass. Finally there’s the Collector’s Edition, which comes with four whopping interlocking statues and some Infinity Gems, for $199.99 MSRP.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite will launch on September 19th in North America and Europe for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
