Late last month we saw the announcement of a Romancing SaGa 3 port for Japanese audiences. While we didn’t know if the game would get an English translation, there was precedent set last year, with the long-awaited localization of Romancing SaGa 2 hitting mobile platforms.
Now, thanks to a tweet from Director Akitoshi Kawazu, we have confirmation that the third game will be ported over eventually with localization, but only after Romancing SaGa 2’s English version hits the PS Vita.
We will make western version RS3. It will be after the Japanese version. But, at first, RS2 Vita for West. I want your patience, please. https://t.co/q9j1N0SP3J

Romancing SaGa 2 was originally meant to release on western shores in December 2016 but it was delayed to an unspecified date.
The third game will also likely take even longer on top of that – while they already have the mobile translation to work from for Romancing SaGa 2, they’ll have to work on 3 from scratch. Either way, it’s good to see that not only will this classic JRPG finally make it over but it’ll give Vita fans yet another long experience to sink their teeth into.
