As Persona 5’s release edges ever closer we get more and more marketing, with one of the most regular updates being the confidant videos. These showcase the various characters the protagonist will meet outside of the main cast, lending their aid and having their own problems to help with. We’ve already seen the likes of gun shop owners and a masterful shogi player, and today’s update shows even more variety.

First we have a pretty modern character – Yuuki Mishima, the Phantom Thieves’ very own social media manager. After uncovering their identities he builds a “phan site” to support them, and the player can rely on him to unlock EXP boosts for battle and allow backup members to still earn EXP.

Following social media managing we have someone a lot more spiritual – the fortune teller Chihaya Mifune. By using tarot cards she can tell the protagonists fortune, increasing social links and strengthening bonds with other confidants.

Next up we have one of the more relateable characters, the arcade loving Shinya Oda. A master of the arcade game “Gun About”, he can teach various gun skills giving you the upper edge in battle.

Finally there’s the alcohol loving journalist Ichiko Ohya. In exchange for Phantom Thieves stories, she’ll increase their fame and make it harder for the security level to fill during Palace heists.

Persona 5 launches in North America and Europe on April 5th, and it’s special edition is still available to pre-order via Amazon.
