Last year was intense for Square Enix – not only did we see multiple Final Fantasy games released across various platforms, but also the likes of Hitman and Deus Ex from the company’s western teams. It looks like 2017 may be no different, given the fact Square Enix is already teasing an exciting announcement for tomorrow.

As for what it could be, we can only speculate. With the Final Fantasy 30th anniversary stream on Monday it seems unlikely to be related to that franchise, and it’s too soon to see new entries for most of the western properties (unless we’re getting a revival of Gex or something.) The best guess could be Kingdom Hearts, as we were promised more Kingdom Hearts 3 news after the release of 2.8 HD ReMIX and that game is now out worldwide.

Intriguingly, at around the same time, Marvel teased its own announcement. While I’d argue it’s unlikely Marvel’s massive Twitter account would hype up something like a Kingdom Hearts world, it’s not impossible.

We’ll be sure to bring you the news if whatever it is ends up heading to PlayStation or Nintendo platforms!

  1. Hey, if Crash Bandicoot can get a remastered edition, Gex is still a possibility. Or let’s just double down and see if Pandemonium is revived.

Yeah, more than likely this will be Kingdom Hearts 3 focused. And while I think the Big Hero 6 reveal from that last D23 Expo will be expanded upon (and another Marvel element thrown in – Civil War/MCU world?), Marvel might have a partnership with comic series (not manga) or something that gets more merchandise of the series out in the US/at Disney parks (there’s some legal tape with using Sora, Kairi, Riku, etc.). Or we’re getting a tv series (HA) or something – who knows.
