The first entry, Soul Edge, was released in Japan for the original PlayStation during December 1996, meaning its console anniversary has arrived.

To celebrate, Bandai Namco has released a new video marking the milestone. Check it out:

Of course most worthy of note is the final sentence in the trailer: “The Legend Will Never Die”. This may be in reference to an upcoming title – afterall, we haven’t seen a new mainline Soulcalibur game since 2012’s fifth entry.

We’ll be sure to let you know if and when Bandai Namco makes any further announcements regarding the Soulcalibur franchise..
